The world of fashion is one that I never wish to visit. I wish to live there instead. An outsider’s view is tainted by flashbulbs and glitter. On the inside you can see the industry without its makeup on…

Super Skinny...honey, they're just jeans

The Gap is not exactly high end and no one could ever consider is couture, however it has become a part of American culture. After all, what kid doesn't own some t-shirts and tank tops for the Gap? Who hasn't snagged a sun dress at a low price from one of their many brightly colored racks of basic cotton clothing? How many American's can truly say they don't own a Gap sweater or a pair of Gap jeans? I mean really, what parent wouldn't see a pair of twenty dollar jeans as a bargain for their nine year old? The latest craze in denim is the skinny jean, a style that I personally can't condone on most people since it does nothing for you're legs if you're over a size four. Unless you have freakishly skinny legs, the skinny jean does the opposite of make you're legs look skinny. That's why, the children's skinny jean should have the world of kids clothes falling to their knees. How many times have adults stolen kids styles to adapt them for themselves (the romper, the baby doll dress, legging as pants)? As just like the leggings as pants craze, this one just looks better on kids! Generally, little girls have skinny legs, so why not teach your daughter to love the way she looks by giving her a pair of skinny jeans. Some have said that giving a little girl jeans that say "super skinny" will give them body issues and make them feel like they need to be thinner, but I think that if a girl feels good in her jeans then that gives her more confidence. The ad campaign is totally genius too. The little girls in the ads have personality. It tells you their names and ages so you feel as if the model is just like your kid, and both little girls are taking part in creative activities (painting and photography). I totally applaud the Gap for this. After all, all little girls want to feel more grown up and a pair of skinny jeans is still conservative and cute. It's not a cropped halter top (which NO ONE should wear, let alone a little kid) or a miniskirt (I totally think should be illegal for girls under the age of fifteen to wear) so what's the harm?
